Dr. Kendall Smith is a Senior Fellow in Hospital Medicine (SFHM) and is Chief Physician Advisor for AppealMasters. He’s been deeply involved in denial and appeals management throughout his hospitalist career, and he works collaboratively with UR/case management departments, as well as managed care and hospital C-Suite executives throughout the U.S. His familiarity with managed care denials led him to design and implement a number of CDI programs, including those at the Cleveland Clinic in Florida and the MedStar Washington Hospital Center. He has served as a physician leader on hospital revenue cycle management teams while also serving as the physician advisor for clinical resource management.
Denise Wilson is a Senior Vice President at AppealMasters and serves as President of the Association for Healthcare Denial and Appeal Management (AHDAM). She also provides ongoing education and expert knowledge to internal and external clients on commercial and Medicare denials and appeals via web-based seminars, onsite training, written materials and one-on-one consultations.
