At RACmonitor, this is OIG Work Plan week.
On Wednesday, Denise Nash, MD, CCS, CIM, manager of the Revenue Cycle for Quorum Health Resources, LLC, the newest member of our RACmonitor editorial board, has a special report on the OIG Workplan. Notes Dr. Nash: “The OIG will assess changes in IP billing for the periods covering 2008-2012. The assessment will also cover changes in IP billing among different hospital types and hospital ensurance with M’Care compliance with IP billing. Medicare paid hospitals $100 billion for IP stays in 2010 under the MS-DRG which is comprised of 747 Medicare severity-adjusted diagnosis related groups.”
If you have concerns or questions about the OIG Work Plan, let us know.
And a reminder, the Inspector General for HHS, Dan Levinson, will be our special guest on Monitor Monday, Oct. 15. Also on board will be healthcare attorney Andrew Wachler, discussing Part B appeals.
