In our recent two-part series on Monitor Monday, we asked providers if they were in favor of Congress creating a designation of “most favored nation status” to those providers who did not cheat Medicare or Medicaid. Most agreed. But there surfaced a contrarian point of view. Patrick, a frequent listener, posed this comment during the broadcast: “I think favored nation status is a fantasy. There have been providers that were released from CIA (Corporate Integrity Agreement) from (the) OIG, then years later had another fraud/abuse violation. Changes within healthcare are so frequent, providers need auditing for compliance.”
